Cares Act Grant Program

John Jay Beauty College applied and was granted funds from eh Cares Act Program. The total amount of funds awarded to students under this program was $67,512.00. The institution paid 70 students who were in attendance from March 15, 2020, to June 30, 2020, that was effected through the time of school closure due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The 70 students each were paid $963.00 of this grant. $67,512.00 was divided by 70 eligible students which is a total of $963.00 per student. All $67,512.00 of Grant received was disbursed on August 11, 2020. Each student received a letter with their check explaining the check they received was from the Department of Education Cares Act Program Grant and how each check was calculated.
